Justin Kolb was born and raised in Pennsylvania. As a child he heard the sounds of country artists like Ray Price and Merle Haggard on his grandfathers radio. Justin began began playing rock and roll electric bass at the age of 13. He began playing upright bass at 22 and shortly after began playing proffesionally with Philadelphia blues and roots artist Shakey Lyman. It was around this time that he rediscovered country music which would eventually lead him to Texas.

Justin moved to Austin, Texas four and a half years ago at the age of 28 and has stayed busy touring throughout Texas, the rest of the country, and the world. Some of the artists that he has worked with include Miss Leslie and The Juke Jointers, Bear and The Essentials, Lucas Hudgins, Jesse Dayton, The Texas Sapphires, and Brennen Leigh. Justin is now honored to work with Bobby and The Yellow Rose Band.
